Stroopwafel recipe

here is a recipe for making traditional Dutch stroopwafels: Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup warm water 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup butter, melted 1 egg 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon (optional) 1/4 cup of syrup (caramel or chocolate) Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and cinnamon (if using). In a separate bowl, mix together the warm water, brown sugar, melted butter, and egg. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface. Cover the dough and let it rise for about an hour or until it has doubled in size. Preheat your waffle iron. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut the dough into circles using a round cookie cutter or a glass. Place one dough circle in the waffle iron and cook for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining dough circles. Once all waffles are cooked, take two waffles and put some syrup in between them. press gently to stick them together. Enjoy your warm, homemade stroopwafels! Note: The syrup can be either caramel or chocolate, depending on your preference. This recipe is simple and easy to follow, and the result is a delicious traditional Dutch stroopwafel that you can enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee.
